Which battery should you shortlist?

Option 1

Enerdrive B-TEC Ultra 100Ah

EPL-100BT-12V-G3

Shortlist the Ultra if its lower case fits your compartment and your installer supports its charging and monitoring setup. Confirm the clearance above its terminals before buying.

Option 2

Invicta Xero 100Ah

SNLX12V100BT

Shortlist Xero if the narrower footprint suits your tray and its documented communication and bank configuration meet your plan. Obtain a selling-price quote and current warranty terms.

Enerdrive B-TEC Ultra 100Ah: This is the G3 Ultra, not the older G2 or Slimline 100Ah. Use the EPL-100BT-12V-G3 column: larger Ultra batteries have different current limits. The published height needs checking against the installation drawing and terminal clearance. Check manufacturer details ↗

Invicta Xero 100Ah: Xero SNLX12V100BT is different from Invicta Black, Compact and the older SNL12V100S. The datasheet distinguishes case height from terminal height. Its maximum discharge rating is reproduced as labelled, rather than silently relabelled as a tested continuous result. Check manufacturer details ↗

Which 100Ah battery fits your boat?

These packs may have the same capacity label, but a narrow access hatch can decide the purchase. Make a full-size cardboard template of each case and check the route into the locker, not only the floor area. Allow additional space for lugs, cable bends, restraints and servicing.

Invicta explicitly separates case and terminal heights. Enerdrive's product table gives a single height. Do not subtract those numbers and assume the difference is usable clearance: ask for the installation drawings so the measurements refer to the same physical points.

Current limits and monitoring need a system check

A 150A headline is not proof that either battery can run every inverter labelled for a 12V system. Your installer must account for input current at the actual operating voltage, startup demand, cable losses and the protection scheme. The manufacturer's terminology and operating conditions matter.

Both list communications interfaces, but having a CAN connection does not establish compatibility with your display or inverter. Ask which protocol, cable and firmware combination is supported. We have not tested either app, so this comparison makes no claim that one is easier to use.

Is the Ultra better value than Xero?

The captured Ultra price is a manufacturer sale price; the Xero figure is an RRP. They are different kinds of evidence. Obtain two comparable delivered quotes, including any mounting accessories and communication cables, before calculating a price difference.

For a boat owner, a written support route can matter as much as the initial invoice. Ask who diagnoses a fault, whether an installed unit must be removed for assessment, and how freight is handled. No dealer-response or durability tests underpin this comparison.

Common battery comparison questions

Are these the older Enerdrive and Invicta 100Ah batteries?

No. This comparison identifies Enerdrive EPL-100BT-12V-G3 and Invicta SNLX12V100BT. Specifications from G2, Slimline, Black or older Invicta models should not be substituted.

Does either have more capacity?

Both are rated 100Ah. Actual delivered energy depends on test conditions and system settings. We have not independently capacity-tested either model.

Sources and comparison method

We matched the exact model codes to the manufacturer documents below on 2 October 2026. The selection advice is our interpretation of those specifications. We have not measured capacity, durability, waterproofing or service quality. We do not turn manufacturer cycle claims into a tested lifespan ranking.

Specifications, offers and warranty terms can change. Match the supplied unit to its current manual before purchase. Report a correction with the model code and source.
