Which battery should you shortlist?

Option 1

Enerdrive B-TEC Ultra 100Ah

EPL-100BT-12V-G3

Consider one 100Ah Ultra when measured demand and reserve fit its capacity and a compact case is important.

Option 2

Enerdrive B-TEC Ultra 200Ah

EPL-200BT-12V-G3

Consider one 200Ah Ultra when longer autonomy is needed, the larger case fits, and charging can replace the energy used.

Enerdrive B-TEC Ultra 100Ah: This is the G3 Ultra, not the older G2 or Slimline 100Ah. Use the EPL-100BT-12V-G3 column: larger Ultra batteries have different current limits. The published height needs checking against the installation drawing and terminal clearance. Check manufacturer details ↗

Enerdrive B-TEC Ultra 200Ah: Use the EPL-200BT-12V-G3 column of the manufacturer's table. A shared Ultra product page also describes other capacities. Confirm terminal clearance from the installation drawing; the listed case dimensions alone do not establish service access. Check manufacturer details ↗

Storage capacity and current do not scale together

Doubling amp-hours changes the amount of rated stored charge. It does not automatically double the amount of current the battery is permitted to supply. This pair makes that distinction visible, so size the bank for both daily energy and peak demand.

An illustrative extra 100Ah corresponds to 20 hours at a constant 5A before reserve and usable-capacity allowances. That arithmetic is not a promised fridge runtime: cycling loads, charging and operating conditions change the result.

Can the boat physically take the larger case?

The 200Ah case is longer and taller, although its published width is narrower than the 100Ah model. Treat this as a different packaging problem, not an enlargement in every direction. A narrow locker could favour one while a low hatch favours the other.

Check the actual mounting tray, lid clearance and cable entry. The extra mass also changes handling. A drawing or mock-up should include the terminal connections and restraint, not merely a rectangle matching the battery label.

Will the existing charging system support the upgrade?

A larger bank can extend time between charges, but replacing a larger deficit takes longer at the same net charging rate. Model the return-to-full routine as well as the nights at anchor, particularly when engine-running time is limited.

This page compares one pack of each size. It does not establish whether two 100Ah batteries in parallel are preferable to one 200Ah battery. That alternative introduces connection, protection and installation choices that require a separate design check.

Common battery comparison questions

Does the 200Ah Ultra deliver twice the current?

No. Published discharge figures are 150A at 25°C for the 100Ah and 200A at 25°C for the 200Ah.

Can I simply exchange the cases?

Do not assume that. Dimensions, mass, charging settings, restraints and electrical protection need review.

Sources and comparison method

We matched the exact model codes to the manufacturer documents below on 2 October 2026. The selection advice is our interpretation of those specifications. We have not measured capacity, durability, waterproofing or service quality. We do not turn manufacturer cycle claims into a tested lifespan ranking.

Specifications, offers and warranty terms can change. Match the supplied unit to its current manual before purchase. Report a correction with the model code and source.
