Which battery should you shortlist?

Option 1

Invicta Xero 100Ah

SNLX12V100BT

Shortlist Xero 100Ah when it provides the required reserve and fits the load limits, avoiding unnecessary size and mass.

Option 2

Invicta Xero 200Ah

SNLX12V200BT

Shortlist Xero 200Ah when measurements justify more storage and the access route, restraint and charging plan accommodate it.

Invicta Xero 100Ah: Xero SNLX12V100BT is different from Invicta Black, Compact and the older SNL12V100S. The datasheet distinguishes case height from terminal height. Its maximum discharge rating is reproduced as labelled, rather than silently relabelled as a tested continuous result. Check manufacturer details ↗

Invicta Xero 200Ah: SNLX12V200BT identifies this Xero model. Do not transfer specifications from a different Invicta range or capacity. Maximum charge current is an equipment limit, not a recommended charger setting; use the applicable manual and complete system design. Check manufacturer details ↗

Use a daily energy log to justify the extra capacity

Record a representative departure day, overnight period and following morning. Separate energy consumed from energy returned by solar or the engine. Otherwise a sunny test day can make a small battery appear to have more autonomy than it actually provides.

The extra 100Ah is a nameplate difference, not a guaranteed additional day. Apply the operating reserve selected for your installation and include loads beyond the fridge, such as communications, lighting and pumps.

Installation access changes more than the label

The 200Ah model is substantially longer, and its datasheet specifies a higher terminal-inclusive height. Confirm the complete access opening and the space above the terminals before assuming an existing 100Ah compartment can be reused.

Both models have documented wired communication, but replacing a battery still requires checking configuration. Capacity-dependent monitoring settings and the approved operating limits should be recorded during commissioning rather than copied blindly from the old pack.

Compare autonomy with recharge time

A larger battery makes it possible to accumulate a larger energy deficit. At the same net charging rate, replacing that deficit takes more time. A useful upgrade plan includes the cloudy-day recovery scenario, not just the full-battery departure scenario.

The manufacturer's maximum charge rating is higher on the 200Ah model, but that does not increase the output of an existing charger. Compare your available charge sources with the actual cruising pattern before spending on additional storage.

Common battery comparison questions

Is the 200Ah Xero the same physical size?

No. Compare the length and terminal-inclusive height in the exact-model table before purchase.

Does a larger battery fix inadequate solar?

It can extend the time before a shortfall becomes a problem, but it does not generate the energy missing from the daily budget.

Sources and comparison method

We matched the exact model codes to the manufacturer documents below on 2 October 2026. The selection advice is our interpretation of those specifications. We have not measured capacity, durability, waterproofing or service quality. We do not turn manufacturer cycle claims into a tested lifespan ranking.

Specifications, offers and warranty terms can change. Match the supplied unit to its current manual before purchase. Report a correction with the model code and source.
