Which battery should you shortlist?

Option 1

Enerdrive B-TEC Ultra 200Ah

EPL-200BT-12V-G3

Shortlist Ultra 200Ah if its installation drawing and supported charging ecosystem fit your boat and quote.

Option 2

Invicta Xero 200Ah

SNLX12V200BT

Shortlist Xero 200Ah if its terminal-height requirements and documented communication fit your system. Obtain a dealer price rather than comparing RRP alone.

Enerdrive B-TEC Ultra 200Ah: Use the EPL-200BT-12V-G3 column of the manufacturer's table. A shared Ultra product page also describes other capacities. Confirm terminal clearance from the installation drawing; the listed case dimensions alone do not establish service access. Check manufacturer details ↗

Invicta Xero 200Ah: SNLX12V200BT identifies this Xero model. Do not transfer specifications from a different Invicta range or capacity. Maximum charge current is an equipment limit, not a recommended charger setting; use the applicable manual and complete system design. Check manufacturer details ↗

Where the specifications match

The headline capacity and mass are equal in the cited sources. That rules out a claimed weight saving or capacity advantage based on these figures alone. It does not prove equivalent cells, thermal design or service life.

Both list a 200A maximum charge figure, but your available charging sources may be far smaller. A higher allowable current only helps if the complete system can safely supply it. It should not be used as the charger setting without a design check.

Look closely at height and cable access

The footprints are close, but Invicta separately states a 247mm terminal height. Enerdrive's table lists a single published height. Compare drawings with the same reference points before deciding how much clearance either saves.

A 200Ah case can make maintenance access more difficult than a compact battery even when it fits through the hatch. Check that a technician can inspect and isolate the connections after restraints and surrounding equipment are installed.

Integration and support settle the shortlist

Both advertise wired communication. Ask which exact monitoring products and firmware versions are supported and whether a cable is included. Avoid buying an interface based only on the shape of its connector.

The Ultra price is an observed selling price for its 200Ah variant; Xero's published figure is RRP. Obtain a dealer quote for Xero and matching installation scopes before calculating a real saving. Support arrangements should be recorded in writing rather than inferred from either brand's reputation.

Common battery comparison questions

Which 200Ah model weighs less?

The cited sources list 23kg for both. Boat Battery has not independently weighed them.

Will a 200A charger be suitable?

A maximum battery charge rating does not select a charger. Other equipment limits, source capacity, wiring, protection and operating conditions must also be assessed.

Sources and comparison method

We matched the exact model codes to the manufacturer documents below on 2 October 2026. The selection advice is our interpretation of those specifications. We have not measured capacity, durability, waterproofing or service quality. We do not turn manufacturer cycle claims into a tested lifespan ranking.

Specifications, offers and warranty terms can change. Match the supplied unit to its current manual before purchase. Report a correction with the model code and source.
