KickAss Marine Lithium Batteries
Australian brand, touring-led, direct to consumer. Claimed only — not yet tested.
Disclosure. No brand has paid to appear, be ranked or be described here, and none sees a page before publication. Some outbound retailer links may earn a commission. Manufacturer specifications are marked claimed unless a complete independent evidence file is linked.
KickAss battery suitability and support
Strong value per amp-hour and easy to buy on a Thursday for a Saturday trip. Specified for touring first, which makes the enclosure and the marine duty your problem.
KickAss has built its business on 4WD and caravan owners, and the pricing reflects volume in that market. For a weekender, a tinnie or a bowrider where the bank is 100 Ah and the boat sleeps under a cover, that value is real and the compromises are small.
What you are taking on is that nothing about the specification was written with salt water, vibration in a chop, or a marine surveyor in mind. The enclosure, the restraint, the fusing and the ventilation are entirely down to your installer, and a surveyor may ask questions that the datasheet does not answer.
We have not bench-tested KickAss cells. Cycle-life and capacity figures on this page are the manufacturer's claims and are labelled that way.

What we like
- Among the best value per amp-hour available in Australia
- Fast direct shipping and easy availability
- Wide range of sizes at the small end
Where it falls short
- Touring specification: marine duty and enclosure are on the owner
- Not bench-tested by us; cycle life unverified
- Support is direct and online rather than through marine dealers
Best suited to
Weekender trailer boats and small house banks on a budget.
Look elsewhere if
The boat is surveyed, insured on a specified install, or lives in salt water full time.
KickAss battery capacities and model checks
Use these voltage and capacity profiles to prepare a shortlist. Ask the supplier for the exact model code, current datasheet, permitted marine application, charge and discharge limits, dimensions and warranty terms. A brand-level comparison does not establish that every model is suitable for the same boat.
Compare alternatives at the same voltage and usable energy. A 24V 100Ah battery stores about twice the nominal energy of a 12V 100Ah battery and is not a direct replacement for a 12V bank.
