The evidence threshold

What a future test record must contain.

  • Vessel, bank topology, battery model and serial evidence
  • Test equipment, calibration record and ambient conditions
  • Charge profile, discharge rate, cut-off points and raw readings
  • Photographs of the installed system and measurement setup
  • Faults, exclusions, uncertainty and any supplier response
  • A dated result that another competent person could reproduce

Why this matters

A neat number without a record is marketing.

Battery performance depends on temperature, discharge rate, balancing, charge settings and the point at which a BMS disconnects. A result without those conditions cannot be compared fairly with a datasheet or another battery.

Until publishable test files exist, use the refit checklist, compare current manufacturer manuals, and have a suitably qualified professional review the whole system, using a licensed electrician where required.

Turn the estimate intoan installation plan.

Take the load estimate, charging sources and cable runs to a qualified marine electrician. Our installation guide helps you ask about isolation, over-current protection, ventilation and compliance before work begins.
